Jordan and I had different days off this week, so I decided to take it easy and stay close to Green River. The big move to St. George is coming up (1 month to go!!!), but I needed a break from all the planning and packing, so I grabbed the dog and drove up to Swasey's Beach. Swasey's is one of my favorite town hangouts. It's a sandy beach shaded with cottonwood trees along the Green River. We spent a few hours swimming, relaxing, and making doggie friends. :)
To get to Swasey's Beach, drive along Green River's main street. Towards the east side of town, turn north on Hasting's Road. Drive about 12 miles, and you'll see the beach on your left. There's also campsites, picnic tables, fire rings, and pit toilets. There are tons of bighorn sheep that live in the cliffs along the river. Swasey's Beach is also the take-out for the super-fun Green River Daily whitewater trip.
